Livio Calabresi holds a degree in Philosophy and Theoretical Critical Studies from La Sapienza University of Rome and in International Political Theory from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland, UK). He obtained the European Doctorate (Doctor Europaeus) in Communication, Social Research, and Marketing from the CORIS department of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
He uses mixed methodological approaches (quantitative-qualitative) in various forms for different projects: content analysis, audience analysis, and various types of surveys. He favors a semantic-narratological perspective, which is the theoretical foundation of his main research focuses: storytelling, social/connective imaginary, and strategic communication (StratCom).
In addition to his academic path, he has been working for years as a trainer and professional in digital communication (Copywriter, UX Writer, and Content Designer) and as an author of fiction for young people. His professional experiences extend his interests to new modes of use and human-machine interaction, applications of artificial intelligence, gamification logic, experiments in the metaverse, and new forms of communication and hybrid journalism.
